The Vision Council Foundation Provides Free Eye Exams to Orlando Students in Partnership with 20/20 Onsite

The eye exams were offered to students at CrossTown 119, a K-8 school in Orlando, Florida

Alexandria, VA – October 30, 2025 – Earlier this month, The Vision Council Foundation partnered with 20/20 Onsite to bring quality eyecare services at no cost to students at CrossTown 119, a Title I school serving students in grades K-8. Free eye exams were offered at the school, where nearly 30 students had their eyes checked for distance, reading, and color through 20/20 Onsite’s mobile vision clinic.

Of the students screened, more than half were fitted for prescription eyeglasses to correct their vision, which will be provided for free, courtesy of 20/20 Onsite and The Vision Council Foundation.

“We are so proud to have partnered with 20/20 Onsite to provide comprehensive eye exams for students in the Orlando community at CrossTown 119,” said Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council and The Vision Council Foundation. “Through this single initiative, we are helping many students see better and acquire the critical vision correction they need to succeed both in the classroom and after school. We remain dedicated to making essential vision care accessible to all, recognizing that eye health is a crucial component of overall wellbeing.”

“CrossTown 119 is deeply grateful for The Vision Council Foundation’s generosity in bringing 20/20 Onsite to our school,” said Eric Stites, Co-Founder of CrossTown Ministries. “At our organization, we believe that helping students and families flourish sometimes means removing the barriers that stand in their way. Learning that 20 of our students needed vision correction, and being able to provide them with glasses, was one barrier we could eliminate. We’re thankful to these organizations for making that possible.”

In addition to the eye exams, The Vision Council Foundation provided CrossTown 119 with educational materials about eye health and optical industry careers, as part of their most recent campaign, See What Matters. These resources, available in the See What Matters promotional toolkit, align with the Foundation’s commitment to helping people everywhere prioritize their eye health and spread awareness of the connection to overall wellbeing.
